An Alamo resident was arrested on suspicion of killing his neighbor, according to reports.
Michael Littman was taken into custody on Aug. 30 by Contra Costa Sheriff's Office detectives at his home on the 3000 block of Stonegate Drive in Alamo. Littman, 59, was arrested in connection with an Aug. 27 dispute with a male neighbor, who eventually died of injuries sustained in the argument.
During the fight, the neighbor's wife was knocked to the ground and hit her headon the cement driveway. Doris Penico, 59, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where she later died. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
Detectives subsequently found out that the two neighbors have been involved in an on-going civil dispute regarding property. They also discovered that during the fight on Monday, Littman struck Penico, knocking her to the ground. Detectives secured a Ramey arrest warrant for Littman for homicide, assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery.
Littman was arrested without incident and was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on $1 million bail.
