San Ramon Police have issued a warrant for the final suspect associated with the robbery of the Gold N Treasures store at 2550 San Ramon Valley Blvd. last summer, in which one suspect was fatally shot.
Suspect Manual Jovan Arroyo is the only suspect that remains outstanding from the May 30, 2012 robbery. Twenty-year-old Arroyo is known to reside in the Hayward but is now thought to have ties to Walnut Creek as well.
Arroyo is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. He has black hair, hazel eyes and multiple tattoos on his arms and on the right side of his neck. He is wanted for robbery and homicide with a bail amount of $1.3 million.
Four men attempted to rob the jewelry store at around 4:30 p.m. May 30. The victims and witnesses reported that four suspects entered the store, said police; at least one of them was armed with a handgun.
Store personnel and a customer were present at the time of the robbery, according to police reports. During the robbery, a victim armed himself with a handgun and shot the armed suspect, who was identified as Kibrom Bairu, 18, a Hayward resident.
The suspects fled from the store, and suspect Bairu collapsed on San Ramon Valley Boulevard in front of the store, police said. He was arrested by arriving officers and transported to San Ramon Valley Regional Medical Center by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. The other three suspects left the scene in a mid-90s white sedan.
Police arrested Hayward residents Krishneel Prasad, 19, Jamal Lewis, 20, in June. The two were charged with the murder of Bairu, along with three counts of robbery. They are currently in custody and awaiting trial, Lt. Dan Pratt said.
