Hundreds of high school students submitted their scientific, creative and dramatic projects to the San Ramon Valley Business and Education Roundtable last week in the Student Recognition Project contest. High school students from across the school district competed in 25 categories including journalism, applied design and child development.
"The program is an opportunity to recognize hundreds of high school students in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District for project-based learning with a unique community twist," a release stated. "The purpose of the program is to create collaboration among students, educators and the business community in the San Ramon Valley, to promote educational excellence and to prepare students for the business world of the 21st century."
One hundred twenty-one winners will be be recognized at a breakfast gala on April 5; 191 honorable mentionswere awarded as well. All projects were displayed at an open house event on March 18. Projects were judged by field professionals with extensive expertise in the various categories.
