Downtown Danville will be closed to through traffic on Hartz Avenue and East Prospect starting at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon as classic cars begin to set up for the evening's Hot Summer Nights.
Other downtown streets will also be affected, including Linda Mesa Avenue between Railroad and Rose Avenue, and Diablo Road near downtown. Front Street and Railroad Avenue will be available as alternate routes through the downtown area.
Hot Summer Nights will be open from 4-9 p.m., with hundreds of cars, live entertainment and other activities. Because of all the pedestrian traffic, town officials ask motorists to drive with caution.
The streets should be reopened by 10 p.m.
