Six new emergency personnel took their oath of office Aug. 5 during a badge pinning ceremony in front of family, friends, co-workers and local officials. Dubbed the Tassajara Firehawks, the academy graduates will serve as firefighter/paramedics.
Chris Conley, Chris Stevenson, Tony Romero, Chris Eberle, Michael Armario-Lyons and Ryan Bock Willmes will begin serving the San Ramon Valley immediately and are stationed throughout the jurisdiction.
After Fire Chief Paige Meyer introduced the Tassajara Firehawks, each graduate selected a family member to officially place their Fire District badge on their uniform as part of the pinning ceremony. With their right hand raised, each new recruit pledged to protect the citizens of the San Ramon Valley.
In addition to the required certifications, paramedic experience and California State Fire Marshal approved Firefighter 1 academy, the firefighters had to have prior to employment and all six graduated from an intensive training program developed by the District.
