Will we women be seated separate from men relegated to the children's area?

If so---this is not appropriate behavior in the USA.

Pat,

Appropriate behavior? I understand that Islamic customs and mannerisms may run contrary to your personal beliefs, but they are not asking you to sit with the children at the dinner, nor have they even invited you personally. If they indeed do ask the women to sit with the children, that is the prerogative of the Muslim community.

Muslims may see many elements wrong with our treatment of women, and the consequential effect on the American family. Women overworked both at home and in the workplace, females that can now only afford to be part-time moms, resulting in the breakdown of the family, less frequent family dinners at home around the dinner table, stressed parental relationships, latch-key kids, etc. The list goes on and on.

There just might be something to learn from the Muslim community, perhaps attending an Eid dinner at the SRVCC might help.

Our own U.S. president spent a considerable amount of time being raised in a Muslim country during his youth, and consequentially it does not appear to have affected him too much. He is a good Muslim who still practices his faith privately without it effecting his running of the country.

Dog,

I disagree that Obama’s upbringing as a Muslim has not affected the manner in which he leads our country.

FACT: Barack Obama is on video record stating that the United States is no longer a Christian nation.

Web Link

FACT: Barack Obama is on video record mocking the bible, taking passages out of context to support his condescending and arrogant message.

Web Link

FACT: Barack Obama is on video record referring to his Muslim faith until the interviewer must correct him and state that he must be referring to his Christian faith.

Web Link

It will be interesting to hear what our democratically elected Islamic president has to say regarding the Muslim 911 attack on America, 10 years after the FACT.

Sorry "Excuse Me" but your prejudicial attitudes are not excused.

The Bay Area's diverse cultures must frighten you each day, I'm sure opening up a history book is a long lost action for you but you might want to research the hatred between catholics and protestants over the ages and reflect on how ridiculous that conflict now seems...times change, as scary as that may be for you to accept.
