Town of Danville's Police Department wants your business to be protected by making sure your employees are familiar with your alarm
system and that it is kept in good working order. Last year, the police department responded to over 2,000 false alarms, and the cost to respond to those alarms was over $69,000. For more information, call 314-3700.

There was talk a while ago of the Danville Police issuing a permit for house alarms. Any word on when they will be available. It was also noted that there would be a three months grace period once they were being issued.

Dear Editor,

New security systems have methods that allow business owners and residents to directly monitor their facilities in case of Alarm via their mobility devices and alert police IF there is suspicious activity heard. In most cases such alarms are silent calls to the owners' mobility devices and do not cause any local alert or outside alarm.

Residents can review Google Voice for retrofit of such capabilities and mobility monitoring.
