Three men arrested in credit card fraud at Nordstrom

Bookmark and Share
Walnut Creek police have arrested three Southern California men in connection with a series of fraudulent credit card purchases at Nordstrom stores all over the state.

Police were called to the Nordstrom at 1200 Broadway Plaza Saturday around 4:15 p.m. by store officials who reported several suspects using fraudulent credit cards to buy gift cards, police said.

The three men were spotted in a van in the Nordstrom parking lot and taken into custody.

Nordstrom security identified the suspects and told police they were also suspected of numerous other frauds at Nordstrom stores in other parts of California.

A search of the suspects and van turned up more than $10,000 worth of gift cards and credit cards belonging to other people.

Police arrested Xianglong Cao, 30, of Monterey Park, Calif., Jarmar Taiwan Bethea, 29, of Los Angeles, and Joseph Velner Quinney, 34, of Compton, Calif. All three were held on suspicion of burglary, forgery and conspiracy, and bail is set at $70,000 each.

Anyone with more information on this incident is asked to call Walnut Creek police at 943-5844.

Oh gee---MORE "oppressed" minorities! Bush's fault.

Thanks, Dave, for your insightful analysis. It never would've occurred to me to blame Bush, but you might be right. Huh...

Would it have wrecked your day if they were named Beaubien, Johansen and van der Bleek?

Dave is correct----wonder if any are "illegal" and/or what free gov services they have scammed as well.

Dave: How do you know the three suspects were "minorities"--based on their names?? "Joseph Velner Quinney" sounds more "White" than minority.
