Juvenile found safe after running away from home

Bookmark and Share
A middle school student was found safe after running away from home Monday night. San Ramon Police called off the search for Kimi Davis after a resident called officers with a tip at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kimi, 12, was found in Dougherty Valley Park on Tuesday afternoon unharmed. The Wells Middle School 6th grader ran away from her home near Quail Run Elementary School around 10 p.m. on Monday and was considered at-risk, Sgt. E. Webb said.

"She took a big bag of clothing with her and some of those clothes were found out in open space back behind the residence," Webb said, noting that police were worried the girl may have been hurt or stuck.

Officers thanked the Contra Costa County Search and Rescue Team for their hard work in assisting with the search, which covered the Dougherty Valley area.

More to this story. Did she recently move to San Ramon from Dublin as Well's Middle School is in Dublin and she lives within walking distance of Gale Ranch Middle School in San Ramon? Doesn't one usually have to attend school in the district in which they live?

So glad the little gal was found safe and sound. So many young people have hard times these days; and this is another case of feeling too much stress, I imagine.
