Residents held at gunpoint during home robbery

Bookmark and Share
Police continue to search for four suspects following a home invasion robbery in Walnut Creek early Monday morning, Walnut Creek police said.

Two women entered the backyard of a residence on Country Wood Drive at 12:20 a.m. and asked a resident to use the phone.

When the resident turned to get the phone, the women along with two men entered the house without permission. At least one of the suspects
had a handgun and held all of the residents at gunpoint, telling them to lie of the floor, police said.

The suspects ran through the house looking for items to steal, exited through the garage, and loaded the stolen items into a vehicle before
fleeing the scene, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The two male suspects were described as Hispanic and in their early 30s, one with a thin build and the other with a heavy build, police said.

One of the women was described as Hispanic and being in her mid to late 20s with a medium build. The other was a white or Hispanic woman in her
mid 30s with a thin build, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call Detective Scott Moorhouse at 943-5844.

The armed home invasion in Countrywood in Walnut Creek is rare for that area but the police did say that they had been called out to that residence before. The occupants had a lifestyle that we may not be fully informed about. I'll bet the robbers knew them somehow or there was some connection. How could 4 robbers randomly choose a condo to target in the middle of the night? They must have known there was something worth stealing in the first place as well.
