Danville resident Yolanda Gomez is featured this month in Reader's Digest, which selected her joke for "Life in These United States." This portion of its Humor Section shares a selection of jokes from readers and comedians.
Gomez's joke was:
Recently, I eavesdropped on two women chatting.
Woman 1: I just joined an online dating website.
Woman 2: Really? Did you find any matches?
Woman 1: Yeah, my ex-husband.
Reader's Digest reported that it receives nearly 50,000 Humor submissions a year. Surveys show that 99 percent of American adults recognize the publication, which was founded in 1922. It can be read online at ReadersDigest.com; via digital download on iPad, mobile apps, Kindle, Kindle Fire, Nook, Zinio; books and music.
It has a global circulation of 17 million, making it the largest paid circulation magazine in the world, according to Wikipedia.
