Bicyclist struck by SUV on Bancroft Road dies of injuries

A bicyclist who was injured in a collision with a vehicle on Thursday has died, Walnut Creek police said.
The bicyclist was traveling north on Bancroft Road around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday when he was struck by a southbound Toyota SUV, police said.
The victim, identified as 88-year-old Concord resident James Connelly, later died from multiple blunt force injuries at a hospital. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
