 | A Danville resident escaped a fire at her single-story home Monday morning, according to reports.
San Ramon Valley Fire crews responded to a call at 3:15 a.m. on Montego Drive and extinguished the blaze, which originated in the kitchen, about 20 minutes later. Firefighters also rescued the woman's small dog, said Fire Marshal Christina Jamison.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was eventually taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Her dog was treated with oxygen on site for smoke inhalation as well.
Jamison said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and there is no damage estimate.
