Police unable to locate missing teen
|
Police in Walnut Creek are again asking for the public's help in locating a local girl reported missing two weeks ago.
Larissa Huntsman, 16, was last seen walking off of the Las Lomas High School campus around 1 p.m. on Aug. 24, police said.
It is unknown if she then left the area on foot or was picked up in a vehicle.
Police attempts to locate the Walnut Creek teen since then have been unsuccessful, and investigators said the girl's mother, Walnut Creek resident Laura Huntsman, has not cooperated with the investigation.
Larissa's parents do not have custody of the teen, and detectives are looking into the possibility that a biological relative or another adult without parental custody may have helped her disappear, police said.
Police today said there is nothing to indicate that a stranger kidnapped Larissa.
The 16-year-old is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds and has brown eyes and hair, according to police. She was last seen
wearing a blue v-neck shirt, blue jean shorts and blue sneakers.
Anyone with information about Larissa's whereabouts is asked to call Walnut Creek police at 943-5844.

Posted by Sharon, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Sep 8, 2012 at 3:32 pm Tom, parents who have had their rights to custody revoked are generally abusive, neglectful, or found otherwise incapable of caring for their child(ren). How is the disappearance of a 16 year old girl in this sort of situation a "custody issue we don't need to be concerned with"? Most crimes against children are perpetuated by family members.
