Man arrested in fatal crash, one woman killed, one woman injured

A Walnut Creek man has been arrested Saturday evening following a crash that killed one adult woman and severely injured another, according to
police.
The two women were standing on the sidewalk on North Main Street at Parkside Drive when they were struck by a vehicle that had driven up on to the sidewalk before it collided with a retaining wall, according to Lt. Lanny Edwards.
Santa Barbara resident Sherry Hicks, 52, died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. Both were adult females, Edwards said.
The driver of the vehicle, Hossein Tabrizi, 53, had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel and was taken to a hospital. He remains at the hospital but has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and remains in custody, Edwards said.
The crash closed Main Street for several hours.

Illegal or not if he wanted to do harm Americans because he is Muslim (as you have inferred) why would he pick only 2 people then ram his car against a wall? Suicide for only 2 people when there are plenty of other opportunities for much more casualties? I don't think so. He was likely drunk or texting.

This one couldn't afford explosives so he just decided to use his car.
What an ignorant #@$% you are Alma. Instead of being concerned for the family of Ms. Hicks and her friend, or worrying about the impact alcohol and cell phones have on drivers, you figure if someone is Azerbaijani or Iranian they must be radical islamists here in jihad. Get a clue.
