Missing Walnut Creek teen found hiding with her mother
|
A teenage girl who went missing in Walnut Creek last month was found at a home in Concord on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Larissa Huntsman, 16, had last been seen leaving the Las Lomas High School campus the afternoon of Aug. 24.
Investigators believe she went missing voluntarily with the knowledge and assistance of her mother, Laura Huntsman, who does not have custody of her, Walnut Creek police Sgt. Mike McLaughlin said.
The teen was found at the home of a third party in Concord at about 4 p.m. Tuesday after police received a tip in the case. She is now in the care of Contra Costa County Children and Family Services, McLaughlin said.
Police have forwarded the details of their investigation to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to
file charges against the mother, he said.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
