 | Dozens of vendors and several hundred artists will take over Hartz Avenue this weekend for the Danville Falls Crafts Fair, held Oct. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Stroll downtown and view works from Alamo Danville Artists' Society artists and others, as well as wares from various local merchants. Attendees can enjoy music, gourmet bites, a glass pumpkin patch, children's games and train rides.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., children can enter a costume parade led by Penny the Miniature Rescue Horse from Horses Healing Hearts. The parade will begin in front of FAZ Restaurant (600 Hartz Ave.) and all children are invited to trick or treat downtown afterward.
While attendees are encouraged to ride bikes to the fair -- with free bike parking provided by Sustainable Danville Area and Adopt-a-Family Bikes at the Balford Building Parking lot (675 Hartz Ave.) -- the first annual Fall Crafts Classic Car Show will roar into town on Sunday.
Drivers not in cool classics can expect street closures between 2 a.m. on Oct. 20 and 11 p.m. on Oct. 21. The following streets will only be open to pedestrian traffic:
* Hartz Avenue from Diablo Road to Hartz Way
* School Street from Railroad to Hartz avenues
* Church Street from Railroad Avenue to east of Hartz Avenue
*Prospect Avenue from west of Hartz Avenue to Front Steet
