Monte Vista High School's football community raised funds for slain CHP officer Kenyon Youngstrom at Friday's home football game against Amador Valley.
Youngstrom was shot in the head on Sept. 4 by 36-year-old Christopher Boone Lacy, the driver of a Jeep Wrangler he had stopped on Interstate Highway 680 near Alamo for an obstructed license plate.
Police officers and their families were let into the 6:30 p.m. game for free and the Mustangs sold $5 wristbands to benefit Youngstrom's family. The wristbands are Highway Patrol colors and feature Youngstrom's name and badge number.
