Learn the secrets of da Vinci on Friday
by Kathleen Martin
| Spend an evening with historian Ross King at Rakestraw Books (550 Hartz Ave.) on Friday, Nov. 9. In his compelling new book, "Leonardo and the Last Supper," King explores how -- amid war and the political and religious turmoil around him, and beset by his own insecurities and frustrations -- Leonardo da Vinci created the masterpiece that would forever define him. King unveils dozens of stories that are embedded in the painting. Make your reservation by calling 837-7337. The event is free and begins at 7 p.m. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by diane, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Nov 5, 2012 at 9:30 am Is this a new address for Rakestraws? I went by yesterday and the old bookstore is closed up...I did not see a sign that they had moved. Maybe I just missed it.
