Posted by the dogfather, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Nov 6, 2012 at 9:39 am No screw-up, Julia -- it's a great program. Spay/neutering is a good idea in general, and for pit-mixes in particular because there is much more "supply" of the bully breeds than there is "demand." And that's fatal for too many dogs.
The humane movement is making steady progress for companion animals, but we are still out of balance by several million animals/year who die in shelters -- in most cases because they chose their owners badly.
I hope folks will take advantage of this program. And if you have any dog or cat, please sterilize it -- and kindly consider adoption to find your next "best friend!"
