Fewer flight cancellations as Sandy weakens
|
As super storm Sandy weakens, flight cancellations are dwindling at San Francisco International Airport today, an airport duty manager said.
As of mid-morning, 54 flights had been canceled, including 16 departures and 38 arrivals, airport duty manager John Ginty said.
Tuesday saw 114 cancellations at SFO, with seven airports along the East Coast shut down because of the storm. Today, three airports remain closed, including La Guardia Airport in New York.
Bay Area weather is also affecting flights into San Francisco, with delays to some arriving flights averaging two hours because of low clouds, Ginty said.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
