Suspect in Monday stabbing appears in court

Bookmark and Share
A Livermore man suspected of stabbing another man in Pleasanton two weeks ago appeared in court Wednesday after being arrested in Manteca on Monday, authorities said.

Jesse Serpa, 33, was taken into custody by Livermore police in his sister's neighborhood in Manteca in San Joaquin County around 6 p.m. Monday.

Serpa had been identified as a suspect in the Nov. 14 stabbing of a 30-year-old Livermore man at an apartment complex at 3819 Vineyard Ave. in
Pleasanton.

Pleasanton police responded to the apartment at 9 p.m. that night and found a man with a single stab wound to his chest.

Police said it appears the two men were arguing and had started physically fighting, when Serpa allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the victim once before running away.

The victim was hospitalized with an injury that was not considered life-threatening.

Pleasanton investigators worked with Livermore police to track Serpa to his sister's home. After his arrest, Serpa was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was arraigned at the Gale Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and will return to court Friday to enter a plea, an Alameda County district attorney's spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call Pleasanton police at 931-5100.

Go ahead and bury your heads in the sand folks, violent crime is increasing exponentially in the Tri-Valley area (ALL OVER REALLY) if you read the newspapers and police reports. Why you may ask? Well, first and foremost we have a population of underemployed and unskilled and more who keep pouring into this country and are hungry and desperate. When there are more people without jobs, crime will increase. Even the current spin doctor President can't solve it, nor can our local law enforcement. We won't have enough police to stop it in the very near future. Sorry to be so negative, but reality is a tough pill to swallow.

Lock and load people--the fraud n the White House mr affirmative action---plans on taking guns away by using the UN agenda 21.

Sorry, Louise, but you are incorrect. According to the FBI, violent crime in our country decreased in 2011, for the fifth straight year. So, America is actually becoming safer.

Dan,

Your paranoia is showing. It always amazes me how a certain group can take any subject and somehow turn it into an anti Obama rant. I know Dan, it's the UN, the black helicopters circling Danville with the jack booted government thugs coming to take your guns away. There really are very effective medications for this condition.

As between the two groups: Far Right and Everybody Else, there is only one that demonstrably inhabits an alternate reality, one that might be characterized as something like a Jonestown.

Dan just gave us a hint about about which group that is.
