Middle school student hit by car, suffers minor injuries
|
A middle school student suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a car in Danville Tuesday afternoon, a police sergeant said.
Officers responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian around 2:55 p.m. in the area of El Capitan and Brookside drives, near an entrance to Charlotte Wood Middle School, Danville police Sgt. Jason Haynes said.
Haynes said the victim, a male middle school student, suffered some "minor bumps" in the low-speed collision.
He was taken to the hospital by a parent as a precaution.
Police said the driver of the car stopped immediately afterward and cooperated with police.
The collision comes the day after a 14-year-old boy was hit and critically injured by a car while crossing the street in nearby Concord.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
