"This position is going to be a tremendous help in quickly and strategically getting the right information out to the right people," said District 3 Supervisor Mary N. Piepho.
The position will streamline county communications with the news media, providing a central contact for reporters who need statistical information or interviews with county staff, according to a county press release.
"We need to efficiently get information out to our nearly 1 million residents regarding the county's key service areas and emergency preparedness," said County Administrator John Cullen.
