Pink Ribbon Day in Danville
In celebration of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Hospice Thrift Shoppe at 444 Diablo Road in Danville will sponsor a special Pink Ribbon Day from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24. The occasion will include refreshments, drawings, discounts on all items in the store and a pink ribbon for each customer as well as breast cancer awareness information.
Also, Hospice announced that it is looking for volunteers at its Thrift Shoppes in Alamo, Danville, Walnut Creek, Concord and Antioch.
"Volunteers that contribute their time are extremely important to the operation of our stores," said Tom Harris, director of retail operations. "It's a way to make a difference in a meaningful way."
Volunteers help customers, stock shelves and prepare merchandise for sale. Call Harris at 260-1282.
