Item D.3, Redistricting HEARING, at 1PM, July 26, 2011, CCC-BOS Chambers Martinez, is now planned to result in a selection of a districts' boundaries map by a majority of supervisors. News service researchers have confirmed with supervisors' staffs that a final selection of a districting proposal and map is the intent by at least three supervisors as a majority.

Your readers concerned about redistricting will have this HEARING as the final opportunity to present their preferences and gain the attention of the supervisors. Only two proposals are planned to receive supervisors' discussions, Proposal Plan 15 keeps districts nearly the same as current with adjustments for population, and Proposal Plan 16 creates districts with commonality of interests, transportation/economic corridors, and community support. It is intended that adjusted versions of one of these two plans will be the supervisors' selection.
