Dear Dolores,

Can you help?

As we have seen over the past 90 days, little in the Danville Express town square forum is respectful opinion or participation in the news process fulfilling “Please be respectful and truthful in your postings so Town Square will continue to be a thoughtful gathering place for sharing community information and opinion” and we need to know what role EMCEB management and editors have in fulfilling the commitments posted by Emily West, then editor of the Danville Express.

We are also pursuing the use of “Posted by Editor, Danville Weekly Online” in current postings by management and editors to the Danville Express Town Square Forum. If the intention is to claim The Danville Weekly identity for the Express Forum then the entire tabloid site must edit itself back to the journalism of you, Dolores.

Dear Editor,

Please review Web Link and see how many parallels you can find in the town square forum among presumed adults' abuse of fellow commentators including publicly using names to defame.

Your readers are still waiting for an update of Emily's commitments and many have responded to CDSI Member Information with specifics about abuse of their names and commentary on the town square forum.

It remains your dilemma to remedy.

Dear Editor,

In an email message received at CDSI Information yesterday, “Express won’t be bullied by Hal Bailey” was the response to this exchange’s request for update. Such claims of bullying are an interesting political twist on the defamation, disrespect and misinformation sponsored on the town square forum. To interpret, “EMCEB management and express editor will not be challenged to offer responsible, sponsored debate by readers” to fulfill their own words “Please be respectful and truthful in your postings so Town Square will continue to be a thoughtful gathering place for sharing community information and opinion. All postings are subject to our TERMS OF USE, and may be deleted if deemed inappropriate by our staff.”

As many among neighborhoods e-exchanges responded to distribution of the email message, “Express will not be bullied about their sponsored bullying.” Our purpose was served by simply illustrating that Emily West’s admission of what is very wrong with the town square forums will continue. The result achieved is validation that “what is wrong with the town square forum will stay very wrong”.

We have your conclusion.
