Alamo resident arrested for homicide
Comments on Stories, posted by Editor, Danville Weekly Online, on Aug 31, 2012 at 7:53 am

Michael Littman was taken into custody on Aug. 30 by Contra Costa Sheriff's Office detectives at his home on the 3000 block of Stonegate Drive in Alamo. Littman, 59, was arrested in connection with an Aug. 27 dispute with a male neighbor, whose wife was knocked to the ground and eventually died of injuries sustained in the argument.

That's what I've always wondered about those gated communities -- is the guard there to keep the riff-raff "out", or the residents "in"?

Hey Cardinal...I really don't think this is an appropriate time to try an put humor into your message.

It's a damn shame when some one ends up dead over a property issue.

Greed and not love of life is the problem.

What a waste...Thanks for listening, Julia Pardini, from a non-gated area...OH except my security gate.

Very sad story. Too bad they could not resolve this through the legal system and had to resort to physical violence. When people want to resolve a property issue and cannot, then they should consult with legal professionals. Probably did not want to spend the money. Well, now they will all have to spend alot more money then they would have initially and someone will spend years in jail. Again, a very sad story.

I don’t get it!

What is an “on-going civil dispute regarding property”? Can’t be property lines, that’s pretty well documented; shouldn’t be about upkeep or appearance, because if this is a gated community (like the previous comment said), then the HO association should handle it, otherwise mind your own business.

I’m very sorry for both of these families. It sounds as if this is a terrible consequence to an awful accident. I can only hope that the spouse tried to push his wife away to keep her safe rather than the accused pushing a woman. Very sad!

They share a driveway

Thanks Josh, but they knew that before moving in. I still don't get it.

The decedent and her husband are both lawyers, Mr. Littwin was a somewhat accomplished real estate investor and this happens...go figure. I can't imagine fisticuffs arising between me and my neighbors. A classic "learn to play nice in the sandbox" lesson gone awry.

I know Michael personally for a very long time and even used their driveway in the past. A very classy person with a good sense of humor and I have never ever seen a temper arise out of him. Can't imagine what could have taken place that would even cause a fiscal confontration.

My regards to the deceased and condolences to those that are suffering as a result. This should be a very interesting court case if it goes to jury trial. I wonder if there were any witnesses to what happened. If it does go to trial, we will get the full description of what the dispute was about. Perhaps there is even a lawsuit against the homeowners assn for not stepping in. And the Stonegate HOA is quite vigilant in warding off unsightly weeds, misparked cars and noise from parties past 10 PM!

Sounds like he has a temper after all!!
