A suspect was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting at a Walnut Creek apartment complex early Thursday morning. Officers responded to the Diablo Pointe Apartments at 1450 Creekside Drive. Shots were fired at the complex at about 3:19 a.m. and one adult suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

Creekside apartments have been a problem area (crime) for years and full of some of lowest rents in Walnut Creek. Drive by it sometime and you will think you are in a ghetto. It is not surprising that the Walnut Creek police had to take down a suspect. Just think with "affordable housing" coming to your neighborhood this will soon be the norm. Welcome to the new society that our current leadership is promoting. You asked for it by voting them in. Now don't complain.

Louise is CORRECT! Many of the low renters are generational entitlement demanders-aka Obama voters---Dublin has a 3/4 mile swath of "low income" housing on Dougherty now--watch the crime spike and the ghetto grow.

With more low-income housing coming in, and you know what that means, it is imperitive that people exersize their second amendment rights and arm themselves with whatever is available. My nextdoor neighbor just purchased a rocket launcher, and the guy on the other side of me stocked up with three more flamethrowers. As long as people don't work, there'll be poverty. Hence violence. Protect yourselfs from the violent slum dwellers.

Woodn't you know, Markus, there are pharmaceuticals out there now to address that condition -- to make that impoverished malingerer stand at-attention and work your 'Won't' into your 'Will.'
I bet you've reached the age of taking charge, so just try to think of it as a cheaper rocket launcher, and remember, if you don't take care of your business, your cabana boy might!

I sell affordable housing in Dublin, these are OWNER OCCUPIED homes. You can not rent these homes, this is not section 8!!! I have sold to many teachers that work in Dublin but would never be able to afford a home here. You people in Danville need to understand what the program is before you bash it.Affordable housing does not = ghetto!

@Ol' Mac D: thank you! Before I moved here, "affordable" housing was built near my former home (a wealthy community), amid multiple protestations. Crime did not increase, and the area that was developed remains beautiful. Meanwhile, one of my neighbors shot his wife during an argument. We have much more to fear from Markus and his neighbors. What a charming bunch.

Section 8 housing does result in ghetto building communities. Look at Antioch and Brentwood. Section 8 housing in these areas has allowed people from Oakland and Richmond to escape their circumstances, only to make a new ghetto. Check out crime statistics in any Section 8 neighborhood in the Bay Area. Section 8 housing, "apartments" near Doughtery Valley High School is going eventually bring down San Ramon. Just a matter of time, biggest mistake San Ramon has made, it is going to kill them in the long run.

How did a post, that had little to no info about the situation at MY apt complex spur a conversation that has nothing to do with social status. This was a domestic disturbance that endied tragically. Because the suspect was allowed to own a gun and turned it on his partner during a fit of anger. This was not gang related or due to the fact that the complex is located in an area that the middle/lower class can actually afford. I work a good job IN Danville but I cant afford to live there, riddle me that and get more information before you throw stones.

Of course all low income housing residents aren't criminals, but you can't ignore the statistics. Antioch used to be a nice place to live. Residents from crime ridden areas flocked there for peace. Unfortunately, along with those looking for a better life came the thugs they were escaping. I don't want this to happen to my neighborhood.
