Is anyone else excited about the end of the school year?

I can't believe another school year has come and gone. Although my children are grown, I still share in the excitement of younger families at this time, as they celebrate their young ones being promoted to the next grade and plan summer vacations and activities.

And graduations! I still tear up when I hear "Pomp and Circimstance," remembering my daughter walking onto the Monte Vista football field, her long hair blowing in the warm June breeze, along with her tassel and her gown.

This is such a special time. Anyone want to share their memories?

I always get nostalgic at this time, too, although my children are also grown. There's something about the beginning of summer that brings back the lazy, crazy days of my own youth. I hope children still feel this - the long summer stretching before them and nothing better to do than lie on the grass, watching the clouds overhead and eating a cherry popsicle!
