This is a very stupid accident...and all over a damn driveway. Hey people life is so much more valuable than a driveway easement...
It all has to do with ego and it appears they both are at fault.
There isn't just one life disrupted. Both families are going to feel this for for the rest of their life...Again, all because of a shared driveway that neither party could agree on....
Yes it all boils down to EGO
Thanks for listening, Julia Pardini from Alamo

Though I never heard of sharing a driveway before with a neighbor, I do think it is a bad design idea and I criticize the builder and township for allowing such a bad idea. I find it hard enough to share a fence with a neighbor when it is time to replace a fence. Our neighbor wants to patch up repair job and we want to replace then entire aged, deteriorated fence. Both of us will be living at our residences for a long time. With CA homes built so close together, it seems imperative that each house has its own driveway, yard, etc. to keep out of each others' way. Have you ever noticed that the more populated and closer the houses are built, the more aggressive and nasty people are in general. I just think it happens to all of life, including animals when their territories are encroached by suburban building. This feud in this article might not have ever happened with a better design idea of not sharing a driveway.
