Skip the morning jog. It doesn't burn many calories and is just jarring the body. And most people barely run fast enough to make a difference. Do yourself a favor, hike up one of many steep hills and trails in Danville, or jump on a bike, mountain or road and start climbing the hills.

A walking buddy is great also - my neighbor and I keep each other motivated to do our 3 mile walk (she motivates more than me)!
