Students to share poetry out loud

More than 800 students in Contra Costa County will join students across the nation in the 2009 Poetry Out Loud competition, taking place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center. Students who were winners at Danville and San Ramon high schools will compete with others to represent the county at the state level.

This event is free to the public. Nancy Fraze, Danville's poet laureate, will be one of the six judges.
