Youth to Youth Conference tomorrow

More than 400 middle school students from throughout the area will converge on Gale Ranch Middle School tomorrow to take part in the 15th annual Youth to Youth Conference, held to promote a healthy lifestyle free of tobacco, alcohol and drugs.

Put on by the San Ramon Valley Community Against Substance Abuse (CASA), the event will feature 80 high school student leaders, who will guide their younger peers through skits, games, panel discussions and small group activities. Workshops will be held on topics such as building self-esteem, drug and alcohol information, and communication skills.

Doors will open at 8 a.m. and the day ends with a drug-free dance until 10 p.m. Tickets are $45 per student and can be purchased at the door or at www.srvcasa.org.
