DUI arrest hits teen for child endangerment

Bookmark and Share
A Livermore teenager is facing charges of drunken driving as well as child endangerment, following a Sunday evening arrest. Danville Police Lt. Mark Williams said the arrest occurred at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night on Greenbrook Drive.

Police reports say an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle driving suspiciously and followed it onto Greenbrook Drive. When the driver failed to stop for a stop sign at Century Way, the officer effected a traffic stop.

According to reports, when the driver pulled to the right he struck the curb and stopped. The officer made contact with the driver, identified as Dominique Martinez, 18, of Livermore.

Williams said the officer noticed signs of intoxication and requested that Martinez perform a field sobriety test. Martinez agreed and the officer determined that the teenager was driving under the influence.

A breathalyzer test later performed by police showed that Martinez' blood alcohol level was 0.13, over one-and-a-half times the legal limit.

Williams said that at the time of the arrest there were three other teens in the car as well, all under the age of 18. Two of the teens were from Livermore while the third was from Danville. Because of the underage teenage passengers, additional charges were levied against Martinez.

He was charged with driving under the influence and child endangerment and transported to the Martinez Detention Center.
