Eagles score at Gold Rush tourney

The Mustang U14 Eagles finished second in their first tournament of the season at the annual 49er Gold Rush in Auburn on Aug. 7-8. They fought hard in extreme heat, advancing out of their tough bracket ahead of strong teams from Roseville, Folsom and Auburn. After scoring six goals in bracket play, the Eagles gave up their only goal of the tournament in the championship game to the Auburn Kickin Chickens off a header from a corner kick. Team members are Coach Tom Bard, Sarah Luther, Stephanie Aurelius, Kendall Andres, Head Coach Greg Schwartz, Amber Ray, Jenna Turley and Coach Don Andres; Ali Bard, Gabbi Klein, Kate Berry, Riah Kitchin, Jessica Schwartz, Olivia Schikora, Sarah Cosca, Ali Kitchin, Katie Mullnix, Victoria Rosdahl and Coach Kirt Mullnix.
